Islamic-Dictionary.com reserves the right to modify the content it provides and licenses associated with it at will and for whatever reason and by agreeing to use its content you are obliged to observe the conditions of whatever license that applies to the content currently or later on, should the license change. Islamic-Dictionary.com permits the use of its' content under an arbitrary fair-usage policy and if you are found to be in breach of this you will be contacted to be asked to remove such content and you are required to oblige. Dictionary Definitions

The words and their definitions, the audio clips of the words and images used inside the definitions on the Islamic-Dictionary.com website are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license. What this allows you to do is to copy, edit, share and reuse the words and their definitions and associated images and audio files from the Islamic-Dictionary.com website as long as you mention it came from Islamic-Dictionary.com and/or put a clear link pointing to the site. You may include the definitions and their images in commercial works as well, as long as you pass on and maintain the license for the definitions in your works and explain that this license applies to the definitions and images you took from Islamic-Dictionary.com only. You can license the rest of your works how you like.

I should also mention that we will not provide a dump of the dictionary database for public release, nor do I give permission for others to amass and/or distribute such a database themselves, however, I may be considering providing a webservices interface for accessing individual definitions. Also, site-scraping or hot-linking from the Islamic-Dictionary.com domain is absolutely forbidden.

Photo Gallery

The photos in the Photo Gallery are widely available online but is not the property of Islamic-Dictionary.com so we cannot apply a license to it ourselves but judging from the widespread availability of the pictures and how they have been remixed, shared and reused it appears to be Public Domain but we cannot confirm this 100%. We leave it to you to decide what you want to do with it and we hold no responsibility if turns out not to be Public Domain.

Blog posts

We do not hold the copyrights on Images used in blog posts on Islamic-Dictionary.com unless otherwise stated, which means you are not permitted to use the images unless you obtain the permission of the original author. But the text on the Islamic-Dictionary.com blog is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license. This means you can copy, edit and share the text of the blog as you like but need to mention it originally came from Islamic-Dictionary.com and mention the author (if the author isn't admin) or at least link to the website/blog post. You can use the text in commercial works as well as long as you mention the origin.

About Islam articles

Like mentioned for the blog posts above, Islamic-Dictionary.com does not hold the copyright for the images used in the About Islam articles so you must obtain permission from the original author of the image. The text of the articles is available widely and we remixed it on Islamic-Dictionary.com to make it suitable for a world-wide Muslim and Non-Muslim audience.
